I made a few new break through in Inlays, abalone and wood. A new QC for my hobby CNC called the “Rock” new LP’s, Violins and more.

I replaced two of my hobby CNC chucks with one made buy one of our forum’s own Ron Justice, This new chuck is a fantastic replacement to the old QC we have been forced to work with also the CNC’s has been humming away with no more wasted wood.

For you science fiction fans I ran across “The Drex files” web site dedicated to the art of sci-fi and Star Trek, Doug is a mad man of trek history/art and you will have a hard time finding a blog that’s more compete then Doug’s top 100’s blogs.  Proud to be able to share some of my artwork  Thanks you Douglas!..

And a shout out to Star trek wikcia.com and Memory alpha web sites for the information and to all the cool Star Trek pages on the internet.

I closed down my tips and tricks page. it’s sad to see it go but it really did not seem help declassify my standards for the Carvewright.

This page will be back with a bigger overview on the market so we all can build our dream designs together.

Look who made the cover of May Carvewright magazine!  I need an agent!

For memory lane sake “it’s been a long time in 3D”  I rendered a few Trek shots of voyager and Enterprise circa 2000 and added 10 year old modeling demo. See my trek pages. so I rendered up a few shots .

I like the ST moire I just but did not care for the beer making shots. Next time CBS I will build you a better backdrop and hold the relish.

Funny how the old 2000 3D models are frozen it time and beamed to 2009 all with in a blink of a eye. Over 10 years now and the old trek models and textures hold up nicely even next to the fancy new texture shaders and new 3D models at ILM :)

Some new CNC shots of guitar making jigs and sleds on You Tube do a search for Liquidguitars.com Note: I uploaded a few but ended up deleted most of them.

A New Carvewright “how to...” Video and book is in the works showing step by step instruction on building a 1959 Les Paul. I could be adding the STL patters in a CD format at the back for people.

Speaking of the Les Paul I have my builds 80% finished but decided to re evaluate my plan of attack and I really need to get a Logo designed  “ why is it the simple things are so hard :)

What a difference a day makes, or should I say Thanks.

LHR sent me two new spindles with better quality controlled quick change chucks or what we call QC’s. So it’s much better QC for a QC me thinks :)

NEW 1.134 software! After talking to Chris L of LHR about the new machine control logic , I redesigned my sled to work better with his new board sensor tolerance design. last week I built a 6 piece laminated neck sled and it’s a green light !

Thanks again to LHR’s outstanding crew for all the help sorting me out.

Project G or more like, project LP.

It’s hard fight the classic designs of Gibson and Fender so it time to try to build one of the worlds greatest guitars Gibson Les Paul model 1959 ” So what so hard about building one? well for one the 3D work, and the need for thick wood over 2 1/2 for the neck. That thickness is not suited for the little CNC I use. So my only way is to cut the neck on the side using “Boolean subdivide”. This gives me a classic laminated neck like on Gibson’s “birdland” with no scarfing at the head stock. Here is a photo of the LP neck pattern turned on the side. As far as the LP body I been told the copyright is not a issue, thanks to PSR guitars.

I have not posted in a few I got jacked up with a major cem burn last month and had to peel the dead skin off my legs “ fun” I am feeling better now And back to work! took the time to design the fender Stratacaster models and new neck using the Carvewrigt. However the new Designer software has rendered my sleds unusable and I now have been forced to cancel the project until I get a feel on the direction of the software.

I guess we will have to see. As a past tester of the software I am at a loss. but LHR I sure will come up with a fix for me as they always do. I also added my third Carvewright unit in the shop and hope to have it working soon in production. I noticed the Les Paul forum has now got one of the expert builders looking at the CW and his test are very cool.

Part is parts. I have been investing a ton of time in the carvewright wood working system this year with guitars patterns and jigs but we are also experiencing some down time with tooling and cnc parts. I hope to get up and running my 2nd Carveright soon and carry a few stock parts in-house . The Idea of this smaller CNC and how well the carving of the parts are turning out is still mind boggling..

We are in construction of a new left handed NC model this week, I was asked to add the fender stye neck and it’s looking good. We will need to come up with a original head stock design in the near future... We also have a new LP design in progress.

Thanks to LHR for getting parts to me ASAP for my unit, do not use old hard red junk wood for test...

8/29/07

experienced some major down time this month with the tooling and cnc parts, We took the down time to design a 3D fender neck.

6/20/07

Finished with the programing of my new CNC based guitar. This design is based on my semi-hollow body electric guitar featured in the gallery. By rendering most of the parts in 3D first, I am able to open up a new window to rapid proto-typing and sound integration for the smaller production luther.

I am currently finishing two new guitars: one in flame-maple, and the other with a maple-spalt body.
